Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center Appoints Anthony J. Passannante Jr., M.D., FACC, As President

The Board of Governors of Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony J. Passannante, Jr., M.D., FACC as president.

Dr. Passannante became the acting president in July 2017. Since then, Dr. Passannante has effectively led the management and operations of Palisades Medical Center, which included a very successful survey by the Joint Commission and the completion of a comprehensive strategic plan for the medical center. Dr. Passannante also served as vice president, Medical Affairs/chief medical officer of Palisades Medical Center for two years. He has served on multiple integration committees within the network, and also participated as a member of the faculty chair selection committee for the new Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

Prior to joining Palisades Medical Center, Dr. Passannante served in senior leadership roles at Saint Peters University Hospital, including interim co-chief operating officer and vice president/chief medical officer. Dr. Passannante earned his Medical Doctorate from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Saint Vincent Medical Center in New York, and his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Passannante is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Board of Cardiovascular Diseases. He is Board Certified for Nuclear Cardiology, and Certified for Coronary Computer Tomographic Angiography.
