Community Health Fair Set For October 28 At St. Joseph Of The Palisades Church

A Community Health Fair will be held on Saturday, October 28, at St. Joseph of the Palisades Church in West New York, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center and St. Joseph of the Palisades Church are teaming up to sponsor the fair, which will feature free health screenings and information, as well as free activities and attractions for children.

All health screenings and evaluations are open to the public and will be provided free of charge. Health information will be provided in English and Spanish, and bi-lingual medical professionals will be on hand to answer questions. Health test and screenings will include HgbA1c blood test for diabetes, blood pressure, heart rate, percentage of oxygen in the blood, vision Screening, peak flow/respiratory, Pulmonary Function Test and Body Mass Index (BMI). Information will also be provided on the following programs and services: CEED (Mammography, Prostate and HIV Certificates), SNAP-ed (nutrition info), health insurance info, WIC, Act Now Foundation (Alzheimer's info), Dept. of Maternal and Child Health and AARP.

Children will also enjoy the Community Fair because it will feature many games and activities, including face painting, a bounce house, and more.
