Donate Life Flag Raised At Palisades Medical Center

Palisades Medical Center raised the Donate Life flag today to pay tribute to organ and tissue donors and to raise awareness of the life-saving and life-restoring value of organ and tissue donation.

"Palisades Medical Center supports the NJ Sharing Network by working throughout the year to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation," said Bruce J. Markowitz, President and CEO of Palisades Medical Center. "We proudly raise the NJ Sharing Network flag to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, and offer hope to those who continue to wait for the gift of life."

Nearly 5,000 people currently are awaiting life-saving organs in New Jersey. Since 1996, more than 3,000 patients throughout the country have received the gift of life from donors at Palisades Medical Center. Thousands of recipients have been given the gift of life, healing, mobility and sight from the organ, tissue and cornea donors from Palisades Medical Center.

Anyone, regardless of age or medical history, can sign up to be a donor. In-person organ donor registration is available at local Motor Vehicle Commission agencies.
