Advanced Practice Nursing

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) has several roles, which includes Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), at Palisades Medical Center. The APN may be seen in the Emergency Department, the Breast Center, and on the hospital units. The APN works collaboratively with your primary physician, and the consultants, to manage your care while hospitalized, or when receiving outpatient treatment.

The APN provides high quality healthcare services. The APN has an advanced degree in nursing, at the master's, post-master's or doctoral level of education. The APN is licensed as an independent practitioner with the ability to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' health problems and needs. The APN focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling.

The APN enhances the care delivery at Palisades Medical Center by providing excellent, high quality, and efficient health care to the community. The addition of an APN to your treatment team assures the use of evidence based medicine, best practice, and improved health outcomes, facilitating timely treatment and discharge.
